Kimberley Knaggs

Kimberley Knaggs was a member of Second City Poets from 2017 to 2018 when she was a first-year law student at the University of Birmingham. From January to April 2018, she performed with the group as part of the UoB slam team, going on to win UniSlam and travel to Philadelphia for CUPSI. During this time, she also performed with the group at poetry events around Birmingham, including Verve Poetry Festival, Poetry Jam and Spoken Trend. She had her first feature slot as a solo poet at Stirchley Speaks in June 2019. Since then, Kim has taken a break from poetry to focus on her legal career. She is currently studying the LLM Legal Practice Course at BPP University Birmingham, and is aspiring to be a media and intellectual property lawyer.

Kieran Hayes

Kieran is a writer and performer from Nottingham who specialises in poetry and theatre. He competed in the 2016/2017 Birmingham UniSlam team which was selected as the team to represent the UK at the CUPSI tournament in Chicago 2017. He became part of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective in 2017 and performed with the collective at events such as The Last Word Festival 2018 and Citadel Festival. He worked with the Second City Poets for their project Playground which was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019. As well as poetry, he has been involved in various theatrical, musical and comedy projects, including writing and directing his first full-length comedy play in 2017. He is currently developing his debut full-length solo show about dogs, recording his first music album and streaming bi-weekly on his twitch channel as KieranIsTrying.
